Remove EXIF from JPEG

Inspect and remove EXIF, including GPS, from JPG/JPEG without recompression. File queues, output verification and image or ZIP downloads.

How to use the tool

  1. 1Add one or more JPG/JPEG files.
  2. 2Review the available metadata and cleanup limitations.
  3. 3Click Process. Download one successful JPEG or a ZIP of multiple outputs.

Capabilities and limitations

EXIF can contain camera details, capture dates, GPS coordinates, ISO and exposure settings. The tool displays readable fields and additional recognized tags. Unreadable fields do not mean that metadata is absent.

EXIF is removed without recompressing the JPEG. Before downloading, the tool checks that EXIF has been removed and the file can be opened. If a check fails, an error is shown.

XMP, IPTC, ICC profiles, comments and other metadata types are not removed. Removing orientation tags may change how rotated photographs appear. Retain the original and inspect the output.

Frequently asked questions

Is GPS removed?

Yes. GPS coordinates stored in EXIF are removed along with the other EXIF data. Coordinates in XMP or other metadata remain.

Does JPEG quality change?

The image is not recompressed. Only EXIF is removed; removing rotation information may change how the photo is displayed.

Can I clean PNG or TIFF?

You can remove EXIF data from JPG and JPEG images. PNG and TIFF are not supported by this tool.
